# Presidio

An open-source SDK that finds and anonymizes PII in text, images and structured data.

Presidio is a data protection and de-identification SDK. It finds private entities such as credit card numbers, names, locations, social security numbers, US phone numbers and financial data, then anonymizes them. Modules cover text (Analyzer and Anonymizer), images (Image Redactor, including DICOM) and structured or semi-structured data. You can add custom PII recognizers. AI teams use it to strip personal data from prompts, logs and training data. Presidio started at Microsoft and is now a community-owned project. The repository is under the MIT licence.
